Lunch & Learn: OSHA

Join us for lunch and candid discussion on how to prepare, and be ready, for OSHA visits. An OSHA staff member will be joining us for this lunch. This discussion will highlight what machine shops and manufacturing businesses should be aware of when it comes to 2024 OSHA rules.

Special Speaker: Ruben D. Garza, OSHA
Garza has worked for Cal/OHSA 18 years, in the Consultation Services Branch as an Associate Safety Engineer. He has had experience working with companies in research and development, facilities, utilities, manufacturing, services, and construction. Prior to his career with Cal/OSHA Garza worked for IBM, starting as a Junior Engineer and working up to Advisory Safety Engineer at retirement (30 Years). The California Voluntary Protection Program (Cal/VPP) is designed to recognize employers and their employees who have implemented safety and health programs that effectively prevent and control occupational hazards. These programs go beyond minimal Cal/OSHA standards and provide the best feasible protection at the site.
